Welcome To Skate Canada Leaside Skating Club!

The Leaside Skating Club is dedicated to teaching the joys and skills of skating to people of all ages. It is sanctioned by Skate Canada and is a non profit organization operated by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Club employs a staff of sixteen professional skating coaches who are responsible for all on ice instruction, and an administrator who is responsible for the day to day running of the organization. LSC has operated at the Leaside Arena for over half a century and continues to be an integral part of community life.

The Board of Directors may consist of up to fifteen members, one of whom is a coach who acts as a liaison between the Board and the coaching staff. The Board relies heavily on the assistance of parents like yourself in order to complete the necessary work of running the Club through-out the year. We invite you all to join us in making Leaside Skating Club a great place for your child to skate.

We have many Coaches who teach both group and private lessons. All of our coaches are certified as skating instructors by Skate Canada. The coaches are self employed and bill the Club for the time they spend teaching group lessons. The coaches sign a contract each year with the Club to teach an agreed upon number of group lessons per week as well as other responsibilities they may agree to.
